What is PayTo?
Australian trust laws require a fee free payment method for customers. This is where PayTo comes into play! PayTo is a payment method that allows businesses to initiate payments directly from a customer's bank account, with payments settling and reconciling instantly!
Why PayTo?
PayTo charges a flat fee of just $1 per transaction, no matter if the guest is paying $10 or $1000. This fee is absorbed by the property, offering guests a fee-free payment option. It’s a great alternative to card payments, where surcharges can vary and be quite high.
Because the guest has to log into their banking institution and approve of the PayTo agreement, this is adding an extra layer of security for payments and helping eliminate chargebacks!
How does PayTo work in Resly?
There’s no setup required for your guests to use PayTo. Simply send them a payment link, this can be done by using the Balance Link template and sending it off in an email. Then your guests can select PayTo as their payment option during checkout. Guests can either enter their BSB and account number or use their PayID, making it quick and easy to set up payments on the spot!
To confirm you have the Resly Pay Balance or Deposit Link template, head to Settings > General > Templates. If you're unable to find it, head to the template gallery located in the top left corner of this page and download the needed template.
How does PayTo work for the guest?
Once the guest receives the email with the payment link and have selected PayTo as the payment method, there will be a number of things that will happen. Once the guest has entered in their BSB and account number, they will be directed to a screen that looks similar to the one below.
The guest will then log into their online banking and head to their contacts, in there they will see a heading saying PayTo. The guest will then click into the PayTo section and its in here they will see the agreement to authorise. Once authorised the guest will come back to this screen and that will finalise the transfer instantly!
Please note this method is only available to those using Resly Pay. Not using Resly Pay? Reach out to our friendly support team to get started!
