How To Upgrade To Resly Direct 2.0

Overview

This guide explains how to upgrade your property’s booking site to Resly Direct 2.0, the latest version of our online booking engine. Upgrading gives your guests access to a modern, mobile-friendly interface and advanced booking features—helping you drive more direct bookings and improve the user experience.


Before You Start

Prerequisites:

  • You must be using Resly Direct 1.0.

  • A V2 version of your booking site is already automatically created.

  • Make sure you have access to your Resly dashboard.


How It Works

Resly Direct Version 1 and Version 2 are separate platforms, each with its own live website:

In the long term, once all properties have moved to Version 2, we’ll retire Version 1. At that point, both URLs will direct users to the V2 site.

Until then, both sites remain active. Every property using V1 already has a corresponding V2 site. When a property chooses to upgrade, we simply enable an automatic redirect from their V1 link to V2. This ensures guests only see the new version of the booking site, without needing to update bookmarks or links.


Step-by-Step

Step 1: Login to Resly

Step 2: Preview Your V2 Site

In the Resly, click the “Preview” button in the upgrade banner. This opens your new V2 booking site in a new tab.

Note:This lets you check the new design and layout before committing to the upgrade.


Step 3: Confirm Upgrade

Click the upgrade confirmation button in the banner to switch to Resly Direct 2.0.


Once confirmed, all traffic to your old booking link will be automatically redirected to your new V2 site.


Step 4: For Multi-Portfolio Clients

Repeat the upgrade process for each portfolio. You can upgrade them individually to allow for staged rollouts.

Note:This helps you test the new system with one property before switching all at once.


Step 5: Understand Browser Caching


The system caches the booking site version (V1 or V2) in each guest’s browser for 12 hours.
Some users may still see the old V1 version for a short time after the upgrade. This is normal and will resolve automatically.

Resly Direct 2.0 introduces a modernised design, a streamlined search experience, and a suite of powerful features aimed at enhancing the booking journey for both properties and guests.

🌐 Map View


Guests can now toggle a map view during their search, allowing them to visually browse properties by location. This improves spatial awareness and helps them choose properties based on proximity to landmarks, beaches, or other points of interest.

📍 Search by Suburb


Guests can filter results by suburb, providing more targeted and relevant search results—ideal for users seeking accommodation in specific neighbourhoods or locales.

🏨 Single Listing Page


The listing page has been redesigned for clarity and visual appeal. Guests can now enjoy enhanced photo layouts, detailed property descriptions, guest reviews, live availability, and a simplified booking process.

🏗️ Listing/Room Type Groups


Create and display Featured Listings or custom Listing Groups on your landing page. You can highlight selections like “Best Summer Spots” or “Pet-Friendly Escapes,” each containing multiple listings. This helps draw attention to specific inventory and improve conversions.

🔍 Better Filters


New advanced filter options now allow users to search by amenities, property types, and pricing ranges—helping guests find exactly what they’re looking for more efficiently.

🛏️ Multi-Room Booking


Guests can now book multiple room types in one reservation. They can select room quantities, enter guest details, and add extras—all in a seamless flow. This is especially useful for resorts or properties with group bookings.

📄 Reviews


Display guest reviews at either the individual listing level or across all listings. You can configure how reviews appear, which is particularly useful for hotels or portfolios with shared reputation.

🎭 Banners

  • Main Banner: Add promotional or informational banners at the top of your booking engine (e.g., seasonal offers or announcements).

  • Listing-Specific Banners: Display targeted messages within individual listings, great for promotions or highlighting special amenities.

🏷️ Add-ons and Add-on Groups


Guests can select add-ons (e.g., breakfast, parking) during booking. These can be grouped for better organisation—e.g., "Room Services" or "Extras."

🔄 Custom Sort Order


Manually control the order in which listings appear in the search results. Prioritise featured or high-performing listings using a simple drag-and-drop tool.

🥶 Child Pricing


Create flexible child-specific pricing rules that are automatically applied based on guest selections.

🐾 Pet Pricing


Guests can specify if they're bringing pets, and Resly Direct 2.0 will apply pet-specific pricing automatically.

🔗 Direct Links


Generate direct links to:

  • The search results page

  • Individual booking pages for specific listings

  • The payment page (with hotel pre-selected)

This is ideal for sharing in marketing campaigns, emails, or social media promotions to streamline the booking process for guests.

To ensure your Resly Direct 2.0 setup looks polished and functions at its best, here are some helpful styling tips, key settings, and feature suggestions:

  • Use a high-quality background image on your landing page to create a strong first impression for your guests.

  • Add at least 3 images per listing—this significantly enhances the visual appeal on the single listing page.

  • Create at least one listing group (e.g., “Featured Listings”) to ensure the Featured Listings section displays correctly and attracts attention.

⚙️ Key Settings

Most of the settings for Resly Direct 2.0 can be found under:
Resly Direct+ > General Settings tab > Resly Direct+ 2.0 panel (at the bottom)
Make sure to review these settings to tailor the experience for your brand and booking flow.

💡 Additional Recommendations

  • Holiday Home clients are encouraged to enable the Search Results Map setting. This adds a map view for guests during search, improving their ability to choose locations visually.
