Dual Key apartments are a great way to maximise occupancy or provide a bigger space for groups of guests who come and stay. A dual key setup is when two apartments are connected, but both rooms can either be sold individually, or together. This is not a lock off setup, where you would close off a room to offer a smaller apartment.
How does it work?
Dual Keys work on a Parent/Child room block system. For example, when the parent is blocked, it will block both child rooms for those dates. However, if a child room is blocked, it will not block out the other child room, only the parent. This allows your listings to be booked separately or together on your channels.
Note: Dual Key Availability is only based on confirmed bookings, this means that the Dual Key room block will only come into effect once the booking is in the calendar.
Dependant on the type of Apartment/Holiday Home, the initial setup may differ.
You will need to create three room types, one for each apartment, and a combined option. E.g:
Room Type 1: 1 Bedroom Apartment/ Holiday Home 1
Room Type 2: 2 Bedroom Apartment/ Holiday Home 2
Room Type 3: 3 Bedroom Apartment (1 + 2 Combined)
(If these are pre-existing room types, you can assign the rooms to these without having to creating new ones)
After that, you can create the rooms:
Room 1: The first apartment (Child Room) (Unit 01)
Room 2: The second apartment (Child Room) (Unit 02)
Room 3: A combined option, should the guest want to book both apartments. (Parent Room) (Unit 1/2)
Once you have done this, contact Resly support at [email protected] - asking to complete the Dual Key link (Only Staff can do this)
